Romeo Santos’ New Album “GOLDEN” Debuts #1 In Sales & Is The Top-Selling Latin Debut Album Of The Year

The King of BachataRomeo Santos, launched his anxiously awaited third full-length album, Golden, in stores and online via Sony Music Latin.

Golden is the top-selling Latin debut album of the year. Reaching #1 on Billboard’s “Top Latin Albums” chart and #10 on the “Billboard 200″, making it the top-charting Latin studio album on the “Billboard 200″ in 2017. It’s the first album by a Latin artist to reach the top 10 on the “Billboard 200″ in more than three years.

 

 

Golden is the biggest debut for a Latin studio album in more than three years. The last album to have a bigger week was Fórmula: Vol 2.

In addition, it soared to the #1 in the digital stores’ charts in 7 countries and reached Top 10 in 16 countries including Argentina, Italy, Mexico, Spain and the US!

Golden is the third top 10 effort for Santos on the “Billboard 200″ chart, after Formula: Vol. 2, which hit No. 4 in March of 2014; and Formula: Vol. 1, which reached No. 9 in 2011

It’s already shaping up to be one of the summer’s hottest records. Loaded with smash hits, the first single “Héroe Favorito” bowed at #1 on the Billboard Charts and racked up 18.2 million Spotify streams and counting, while the music video amassed over 121.7 million YouTube/VEVO views.

 


The recent follow-up “Imitadora” continues this hot streak and became this week’s #1 Latin song in the nation dethroning “Despacito” onBilboard’s “Latin Airplay” chart. After teasing it on Instagram, Romeo premiered a sexy and cinematic music video for the song.

 

Once again, Romeo attracted some of the world’s biggest and brightest stars to join the party on Golden. The tracklisting, which he personally revealed on Instagram, makes the record an event in and of itself. He collaborates with everyone from Swizz Beatz [“Premio”], Nicky Jam & Daddy Yankee [“Bella y Sensual”], Julio Iglesias [“El Amigo”], Jessie Reyez [“Un Vuelo A La”], and more.
