Sir Paul McCartney Plays Drums on New Foo Fighters Album

You read that correctly, Foo Fighters asked Sir Paul McCartney to plays the drums on their new album, Concrete and Gold.

This isn't the first time that McCartney has collaborated with Dave Grohl on a project. The duo collaborated with two other surviving members of Nirvana (bassist Krist Novoselic and current Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear) on "Cut Me Some Slack," an original song recorded for Grohl's 2013 film, Sound City.

There's been a rumor of a "superstar" appearing on Foo Fighters new album, but during a recent interview, Grohl confirmed that McCartney is not the superstar or either Adele or Taylor Swift. He said that he'd be surprised if anyone figures out who that "superstar" guest is.

So, who could it be? We'll find out (hopefully) on Sept. 15, when Concrete and Gold is released. In the meantime, don't forget to pre-order the album on iTunes!
