Latin urban music icon Wisin is the most popular artist on Latin radio in the United States and Puerto Rico according to Billboard‘s “Latin Airplay” chart where he reigns at the top with the #1 and #2 spots with “Como Antes“ Yandel feat. Wisin and “Escápate Conmigo” Wisin feat. Ozuna, becoming only the seventh artist to achieve this feat since the inception of the chart.
The other acts who have simultaneously garnered the #1 and #2 on the chart are Selena (1995), Pitbull (2011), Juan Luis Guerra (2010), Juanes (2008), and Alejandro Fernandez (1998) and Maluma (2017).
“Como Antes” marks Wisin‘s ninth #1 as a solo artist and his nineteenth career “Latin Airplay” #1. Last month “Escápate Conmigo” reached #1 on Latin radio and it continues to top the charts. To date, “Escápate Conmigo” has spent 11 weeks on Billboard’s “Hot 100” chart as well as multiple weeks on Spotify’s “Global 50” and a whopping 26 weeks on Billboard’s “Hot Latin Songs” chart.
Last week Wisin received three 2017 Latin American Music Award nominations, including “Artist of the Year”, “Favorite Artist of the Year – Urban”, and “Favorite Song of the Year – Urban” (for “Vacaciones“).
“Escápate Conmigo” is the second single off Wisin‘s upcoming album, Victory. Its first single “Vacaciones” also reached #1.
