Signalling the start of a new era of music from one of the UK’s brightest virtuoso talents, ‘REVERSE!!’ also lands as the first single from forthcoming new album, ‘BULLDOZER!!’, out this fall — MNEK‘s first full-length record since the release of his debut album, ‘Language’, back in 2018.
REVERSE!!’ turns heads from the off, tapping everything from rowdy underground UK club styles to ’00s-era RnB as a fun, full-throttle celebration of MNEK‘s confineless, convention-busting artistry, while also paying homage to foundational Black British Music and his own contributions to its wider canon.
The official video — directed by Douglas Reddan — only amplifies this sentiment, as MNEK performs to camera in a dimly-lit underground car park, flanked by body-popping street dancers and vintage sports cars.
