Get ready to dance, electropop duo The Familiar have released their brand new single titled “Patience.”

The duo explores more personal territory lyrically on the new single, and continue to challenge the typical electro-pop sound by incorporating their dark, Norwegian influences. Brooklyn-based singer Ruth Mirsky sings her plea for patience to her lover, over a pulsating synth-driven beat from Norwegian-based producer Mads Martinsen

The Familiar is the alternative electronic-pop duo of Norwegian-American singer Ruth Mirsky, and Norwegian-based producer Mads Martinsen. Martinsen lives in Tromsø, while Mirsky is based in NYC, where she was born and bred. The unlikely duo recently released their EP “Rooms” in 2014 featuring the single “World Ends”. The band was hailed as the Best New Music From Around the World in The Guardian while “World Ends” has since received over 110,000 streams on Spotify and “Don’t Wait For Me” was featured on MTV’s Awkward. The Familiar are working on releasing a new EP, due out early this fall.
