SHABBAAAAA SOUND RADIO Coming To Apple Music

SHABBAAAAA has quickly evolved from an underground dancehall-influenced party to a global movement, with online radio stations based in Los Angeles and London.

Now, the LA-based collective are joining the Apple Music family of shows with SHABBAAAAA SOUND RADIO. Every two weeks, the SSS Crew, which includes Drewbyrd, Sean G, and Shacia Päyne Marley, spins a unique selection of sounds that capture the evolution of dancehall music —whether it’s afrobeats, hip-hop, world music, Latin music, reggae, house or R&B.

Each episode features a curated playlist alongside a host of live mixes that bring the party right to your home.

Episode 1 kicks off this weekend with an exclusive interview with the great Buju Banton, via FaceTime, from his home in Kingston, Jamaica. The conversation reflects his thoughts on the current pandemic, his early years in music, popular culture today, the new upcoming album and his purpose as an artist and individual. They also go through his music catalog together, picking their favorite tunes (both past and present).

The SHABBAAAAA crew caps off the inaugural episode with a DJ mix featuring a melting pot of songs and music genres that fall within the dancehall-influenced realm.

Tune in to the debut episode SHABBAAAAA SOUND RADIO on Apple Music this Sunday, May 3rd at 3p PST / 6p EST at apple.co/B1_ShabbaaaaaSound.
