Singer-songwriter-producer Rosa Linn teams up with Kiiara to release her debut single “KING.”
Backed by punchy drums and polished synths, the track and video for “KING” presents two different female artists in the music industry in different frames whose global story connects them – with Kiiara representing the American perspective, and Rosa, the global perspective. Sharing stories and lyrics in both English and Russian (Russian is the second most common language spoken in Armenia), “KING” showcases the glorification of western culture and fame not being all it’s cut out to be through both Kiiara and Rosa’s lens. This release from Rosa Linn is an exciting moment for global pop music from West Asia and the growing globalization around where talent can be found and fostered.
Regarding the track, Rosa Linn commented:
I want my music to have a message and as soon as I wrote “KING”, I knew it had to be my first release. It addresses the political undertones between Russia and America and I’m thankful to have Kiiara share her / the American perspective of what fame is like.
