Perry Ellis International (PEI) Rings In 50th Anniversary Milestone Year at NASDAQ

Perry Ellis International (PEI) transformed NASDAQ’s closing bell ceremony into fashion-central, kicking off the fashion leader’s 50th anniversary milestone year.

PEI’s Oscar Feldenkreis, CEO & President, and his father George Feldenkreis, Founder, rang the closing bell at Nasdaq alongside leading fashion influencers, athletes and celebrities that included Justise Winslow of the Miami Heat and singer/actor Carlos Ponce.

PEI’s diverse fashion portfolio appeals to global markets via a crossroads of sought-after lifestyle leaders: men’s brands include Perry Ellis, Original Penguin by Munsingwear, Savane, Cubavera and Farah; golf brands include Callaway, PGA TOUR, Jack Nicklaus, Grand Slam, and Ben Hogan; women’s brands include Rafaella, Laundry by Shelli Segal, and Peony & Me; the swim brands feature Nike and Jantzen.

As part of the Nasdaq closing bell ceremony event honoring its 50th anniversary, PEI presented exclusive social media forums broadcast live from the company’s showrooms in New York. International media presentations featured George and Oscar Feldenkreis alongside family members, global fashion influencers and industry leaders, athletes and celebrities, and executive members of PEI. The company’s associates were featured throughout the morning on the Times Square Nasdaq Marketsite Tower and Marquee, as part of a worldwide campaign to recognize the contributions of its associates around the world to PEI’s half-century of success.

PEI’s Founder, George Feldenkreis, is recognized as one of the world’s most successful Hispanic immigrants. After leaving Cuba in the 1960s to create a better life for his family in the U.S., he started his fashion empire in 1967.

The company’s entrepreneurial spirit continues to thrive as Oscar Feldenkreis leads three generations of family tradition into the 21st century with $3.1 billion in global retail sales, 150 licenses worldwide, 17 sourcing countries, 71 directly operated stores and 90+ licensed stores around the world, and more than 2,500 associates across the globe.

As the 50th-anniversary momentum continues throughout this milestone year, PEI will spearhead new philanthropic initiatives and future-focused industry strategies.
