Last night (Dec. 19), Liam Payne took part in a groundbreaking Virtual Reality live broadcast, where his show at Koko, one of London’s most-loved music venues, was simultaneously broadcast in VR around all over the world, in real time.

Thanks to MelodyVR’s immersive custom-built live-stream VR technology, Liam offered his fans an experience in a previously unseen quality for VR. This live interactive performance featured MelodyVR’s unique ‘jump spot’ technology allowing fans to get up close and personal and control their own experience. The intimate performance was captured from multiple points-of-view, giving fans complete control over their experience and enabled them to be right there with Liam on stage.

The significance of MelodyVR’s series of live VR broadcasts, and the creative possibilities, are really exciting for the music industry. Virtual tickets will mean never again will a show be sold-out and artists and record labels can think about how fans connect with the artists they love, in a completely new light.

This first Live in VR event begins a new chapter where music fans get unprecedented access to live events as they happen, in real-time, via the MelodyVR platform.

MelodyVR will be making available exclusive content from the show over the festive period with more to come in 2019.
