Maluma Forced to Cancel Sold-Out Rome Concert

Maluma, who has been taking Europe by storm with his tour throughout the continent, has been forced to cancel his first-ever concert in Rome, which was already completely sold-out. And it is precisely the amount of tickets sold that has become an issue according to a letter sent to the local promoter by the culture department of city, which states that for security reasons, the number of capacity of the venue must be lowered.

According to the local promoter, obeying the official order would require canceling the attendance of at least 500 ticket holders and potentially unleashing reactions that could pose security risks for fans attending the Atlantico Live Roma venue the night of the concert; therefore the recommendation of security experts has been to cancel the concert.

Maluma released the following statement via social media:

This has not been an easy decision to make. The last thing I wanted to do was to disappoint my Roman fans for whom I have dreamed of performing for many years; but taking into consideration security concerns from local experts, I have been forced to cancel this Sunday’s concert at the Atlantico Live Roma. I would never risk anybody’s safety, let alone that of my fans. I promise that as soon as I can, I will return to Rome and to a venue that can accommodate everyone, without having to leave anyone out – I love you guys.
