In a recasting shuffle, newcomer Jonathan Whitesell has booked a regular role on ABC Family’s supernatural drama pilot Beyond.
The pilot, which has begun production in Vancouver, centers on a young man named Holden (Burkely Duffield) who wakes up from a coma after 12 years and discovers he is emotionally still a teenager, physically an adult and possessed with supernatural abilities that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy.
Whitesell is set to play Luke, a teenager whose childhood has been complicated by the tragedy of his brother’s coma and the havoc it has wreaked on his parents. The role became available when Duffield, initially announced as Luke, was moved to the role of Holden.
