TIM, the posthumous Avicii album is a statement to the type of artist that Avicii was and will always be a musical genius. His family released the album, although it wasn’t finished, some of Avicii’s friends helped put the album together. The final product was an album full of emotion, love, happiness, and dance. There are no words to explain how incredible Avicii’s music is and will always be.

Latin trap will never be the same, X 100PRE, Bad Bunny‘s critically-acclaimed debut album and Latin Grammy winner for “Urban Music Album,” is one of the best Latin music albums. His collab with Drake “Mia,” broke crossover milestones, his vulnerable anthem “Solo de Mi” proved that it’s okay to be heartbroken and focus on yourself, “Estamos Bien” is a life lesson about feeling good and not worrying about the little things that stress you out.

J Balvin and Bad Bunny, what else is there to say.

We had the opportunity to interview Joan Elite in early 2019, before the release of his album. We talked to him about his upcoming music and his hit single, “Muchacho Criticado.” The corrido features Joan singing about a young man that has been criticized all his life and overcoming all that criticism to better his life and his family’s. The entire album is a journey, hence the name, ‘El Viaje,’ Joan Elite is the future of corridos. A humble and hardworking young man.

Celebrating 25 years of music, La Septima Banda shows no signs of stopping. ‘Salud Por Nuestro 25 Aniversario’ is a thank you to their fans for supporting them for twenty-five years. The album features their global hit single, “Nos Volvimos a Buscar,” a song about losing someone you love but realizing that you’re both still in love with each other because at the end of the day you never forget your one true love.

Billie Eilish was the queen of 2019, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go deserves all the GRAMMYs.

2019 was a bit of a controversial year for Ozuna, but there’s no denying that his music can transcend any negativity. One of the biggest, if not, the biggest Latin artist in the world, Ozuna proves that he’s here to stay with Nibiru. “Baila Baila Baila” will make you dance, hence the title. A reimagination of Diddy’s “I Need A Girl,” “Eres Top” proves that Ozuna isn’t afraid to cross genres. “Reggaeton In Paris” makes us want to book a trip to Paris and dance the night away under the Eifel tower. 2020 is the year of Ozuna, we’re ready.

Marina, formerly known as Marina and The Diamonds sheds the bubble gum pop for a more mature sound on double album Love + Fear. Marina’s soft vocals are like a relaxing meditation session, that is proven on “Handmade Heaven,” close your eyes while listening to the track and you’ll feel like you’re floating into tranquility. ‘Electra Heart’ introduced us to an era of being a heartbreaker, a primadonna girl, and put us in a state of dreaming. Love + Fear takes us on a journey of how to be human, believing in love, and showing us that life is strange. Don’t miss Marina performing at Coachella 2020!

America’s sweetheart aka Maddie Poppe captured America’s heart during season 16 of American Idol. Being crowned the winner was not a shocker, she proved that her originality, quirkiness, and ability to sing would turn her into an Idol. If it was up to us, Whirlwind would be nominated for a GRAMMY, ‘Best Pop Vocal Album,’ to be exact. No over the top beats, no autotune, just beautiful vocals and catchy songs, that’s what makes Whirlwind one of the best albums of 2019. Our favorite tracks? All of them, but if we had to choose they’d be “Nothing Good Comes Out of California,” “Roses,” “Not Losing You,” and “First Aid Kit.” 2020 will be a great year for Maddie.

Alejandro Aranda aka Scarypoolparty took the music industry by storm during season 17 of American Idol, he may not have won but he made a statement with the original songs he sung during the season. Katy Perry compared Idol to a Karaoke show but stated that Alejandro changed all of that. Originality is what captured our attention, Exit Form proves that Scarypoolparty isn’t afraid to go beyond originality and creating his own genre. From grunge “Diamonds” to EDM/rock “Dance the Night Away,” Scary took risks that paid off, landing on our Best Albums of 2019 list. You’ll definitely be hearing a whole lot of Scarypoolparty in 2020.

Natti Natasha had a great 2019, from collaborations to the launch of her album ilumiNATTI, 2020 looks to be a continuation of that great 2019 year. The seventeen track album features Natti experimenting with various music genres including reggaeton, pop, bachata, and ballads. After what felt like centuries of waiting, Becky G released her debut album Mala Santa and it was well worth the wait. Fusing pop, reggaeton and a bit of hip-hop, Becky G proves that she has a bright future in the music industry. Her global anthem, “Mayores” catapulted her career to levels that no one has ever seen before, she followed it up with “Sin Pijama” alongside Natti Natasha and the rest is history. Not only can Becky G release hit singles, she’s proven that she can also release an album full of hits.

One of our favorite duos, Tegan and Sara released their ninth album, Hey, I’m Just Like You. This is not your ordinary album, the duo released it along with a memoir titled High School, why? The two go hand in hand, because Hey, I’m Just Like You features re-recordings of unreleased demo songs that the duo recorded as teenagers. Throughout their career, the duo has experimented with different genres including electro-pop, but Hey, I’m Just Like You takes them back to their rock-influenced sound. The perfect album for fans that have followed Tegan and Sara from their start.

Six years after the release of her fifth self-titled album, Avril Lavigne released Head Above Water in 2019. The album draws inspiration from Lavigne’s battle with Lyme disease, with her describing the album as an “emotional journey”. It definitely is a journey, each track tells a story about struggle, triumph, love, loss. It’s the most vulnerable that Avril has ever sounded, with that being said, “Dumb Blonde” is one of those tracks that will make you scratch your head and ask “why?” other than that, the album is a triumph. Standout tracks include “I Fell In Love With The Devil,” “Head Above Water,” “Warrior.”

Rock icons, Blink 182 released new album, Nine in 2019. Fun fact, Nine is sequentially Blink-182‘s eighth studio album, Hoppus and Barker decided to consider it their ninth by including the band’s 1994 demo album, Buddha, in their count. According to various sites, the album’s lyricism is dark in nature and was informed by world events, as well as Hoppus’ battle with depression. Standout tracks include “Darkside,” “Blame It On My Youth,” “Generation Divide,” “Hungover You.”
