Mighty Aphrodite Pictures has confirmed Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts (Babylon, The Dark Knight) has been set to star opposite Johnny Ortiz and Alexis Vazquez in ‘Lolita’ a drama from director Jorge Xolalpa that is currently in production.
The plot of Lolita centers around Jesus (Vazquez), a man who after being released from jail, tries to get his daughter’s custody back. Roberts portrays Officer Jones, a man of conviction and respect who although can appear absent and jaded, actually cares for Jesus. Lolita is being produced by Xolalpa at Mighty Aphrodite Pictures and Alfredo Widman.
Roberts was most notably seen in Damien Chazelle’s Babylon for Paramount Pictures, which scored three Oscar nominations last year. He is also known for his work in The Dark Night, Inherent Vice, The Expendables, Runaway Train and many more.
Roberts is repped by Sovereign Talent Group and Scott Carlson Entertainment; Xolalpa by Echo Publicity.
