CALIBASH Remains The #1 Urban Music Festival In the U.S.

After two years of no-shows, SBS Entertainment and LaMusica brought back the biggest urban music festival in L.A., CALIBASH to the Crypto.com Arena (formerly Staples Center).

The 2022 edition of the festival, which celebrated fifteen years, kicked off on Friday, January 14th with a SOLD-OUT show featuring Ozuna, Wisin y Yandel, Natanael Cano, and surprise guests Ivy Queen, Anuel AA, and Jowell & Randy.

Kicking off the night were up & comers Eix Cauty x Omy De Oro, they brought the reggaeton and trap to the Crypto.com Arena stage, the following was Regional Mexican star Natanael Cano with his signature corridos tumbados. Cano performed some of his biggest including “Soy El Diablo,” “Amor Tumbado,” “Los 4 Ases,” and more.

Reggaeton duo Jowell & Randy, whom showed up as surprise guests set the stage ablaze with their hits including “Bonita,” “No Te Veo,” “Se Acabo La Cuarentena,” “Safaera.” During their set, the duo also announced that they were celebrating their 20th anniversary.

The Queen, La Diva, La Potra, La Caballota, Ivy Queen, the only woman on the line-up for night number one, proved as to why she is the queen of reggaeton. Alone on stage, Ivy commanded the stage with her sharp vocals and brought the entire sold-out crowd to its feet. Ivy performed some of her biggest hits including “Te He Querido, Te He Llorado,” “La Vida es Asi,” “Dile,” “The Queen Is Here,” ‘Quiero Saber,” “Quiero Bailar,” and a bit of the “Yo Perreo Sola (Remix).”

DJ Alex Sensation delivered a dance-filled set including a tribute to the legendary Vicente Fernandez, then he announced special guest Anuel AA who delivered an almost 45-minute long set in which he performed some of his biggest hits including “La Jeepeta,” “Keii,” “Esta Cabron Ser Yo,” “Culpables,” “Medusa,” “Quiere Beber,” and more.

Ozuna delivered a sweet and delectable set, there’s no doubt that his vocals are phenomenal, he performed hit singles such as “Se Preparo,” “Baila Baila Baila,” “Dile Que Tú Me Quieres,” “Taki Taki,” “Caramelo.” The legends, Wisin & Yandel closed out the epic first night of CALIBASH with an unforgettable set filled with their biggest anthems including “Me Éstas Tentando,” “Sexy Movimiento,” “Abusadora,” “Reggaeton En lo Oscuro,” “Como Antes,” “Ganas de Ti,” “Si Supieras,” just to name a few.
