Tokischa x Natanael Cano Release “Kilos de Amor”

Dominican rapper, Tokischa and groundbreaking Corridos Tumbados artist, and Mexican rapper Natanael Cano have teamed up on new track, “Kilos de Amor,” a duet of a broken love story.

Directed by Raymi Paulus, the music video was creatively shot in Mexico, where Natanael Cano is from and has broken the Corrido sound within the new generation of music lovers.  The visuals showcase their love is broken with pain and divided through a metal gated fence within a church symbolizing separation from two worlds with faith. The music video has also delivered visually the under world in Mexico that Natanael Cano represents and Toskicha promotes her own under world of the Dominican Republic through their music.

This is the first time Tokischa as an artist naturally expresses in her sound a rapped/singing sound mixed with traditional Mexican elements. Recently, Tokischa teased the record in her NPR Tiny Desk performance in late September for LatinX Heritage Month. The track and video represent the movement that the young generation has been celebrating both cultures musically.
