The Soft White Sixties Release Political New Music Video for “Brick By Brick”

Los Angeles rock n’ roll quintet The Soft White Sixties have released the video for their latest single “Brick By Brick.”

The clip features a collage of sensationalized news and exaggerated sound bites about American ideals, intertwined with live footage of the band. “Brick by Brick” tackles the subject of Trump’s proposed border wall from the perspective of a first generation Mexican-American, frontman Octavio Genera.

Not wanting to be political, but demanding of themselves a certain amount of honesty and transparency, Genera wrote what was on his mind: “If you build a wall / we’re going to tear it down / brick by brick.” Watch the video for “Brick By Brick,” below.

Guitarist Aaron Eisenberg had this to say:

There was a lot of spontaneity in the process of this new record – every song was written in the studio with really no pre-production. Being that our first night in the studio fell on Election Night, that tension and energy crept its way onto the album in various ways with this song being the most blatant example. It only seemed appropriate to apply that same approach to the video by creating a spontaneous collage of sensationalized news, daytime TV, bad re-runs – essentially what I imagine is on loop on the President’s White House bathroom television set.

The band will be releasing additional singles, produced by Elijah Tompson (Delta Spirit, Everest, Father John Misty), in early 2018 in both English and Spanish.
