Rob Lowe has joined the cast of “Super Troopers 2,” the sequel to 2001’s bumbling cop comedy Super Troopers.
Broken Lizard, the comedy team behind the original film, raised more than $4.5 million to fund Super Troopers 2 during a crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo last year, shooting past their initial goal of $2 million.
Broken Lizard members Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske wrote and are starring in the film once again, with Chandrasekhar also directing.
Lowe is set to play Guy Le Franc, a former hockey player and the current mayor of a Quebec Canadian border town.
