NYTA Public Relations Signs Mexican Author and Autism Advocate Karla Chinen

NYTA Public Relations has signed Mexican author, autism advocate, speaker, podcast host, and nonprofit leader Karla Chinen for public relations representation, the agency announced today.

Chinen is the founder and CEO of Empathy for Autism California, Inc. and the author of four books. Her newest release, The Spectrum No One Sees, is a deeply personal collection of poetry and short stories exploring motherhood, mental health, identity, and experiences within the autism community that often remain unseen or misunderstood.

As the mother of two autistic children, including a son with profound autism, Chinen brings both lived experience and years of advocacy to her work. Through her writing, speaking, podcasting, and leadership, she has dedicated herself to amplifying voices across the autism spectrum while helping families feel seen, understood, and supported.

With The Spectrum No One Sees, Chinen turns that mission into a literary exploration of the realities and emotions that can exist beyond society’s conventional understanding of autism. Through poetry and short-form storytelling, the book creates space for experiences that are not always represented in mainstream conversations surrounding neurodiversity, caregiving, motherhood, and identity.

Karla’s story and advocacy represent exactly the kind of meaningful voices we want to help amplify at NYTA,” said Jorge Xolalpa, founder of NYTA Public Relations. “Her work comes from an incredibly personal place, but the conversations she is creating extend far beyond her own family. The Spectrum No One Sees gives readers an opportunity to understand experiences within the autism community that too often go unheard. We’re proud to welcome Karla to NYTA and help bring her message to a wider audience.

Under the representation agreement, NYTA Public Relations will oversee publicity and media outreach surrounding Chinen, with an immediate focus on expanding awareness of The Spectrum No One Sees, her advocacy, and her work through Empathy for Autism California, Inc.

Chinen joins NYTA’s growing roster of authors, artists, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, advocates, and independent voices whose work centers on culture, identity, representation, and social impact.
