Maluma Hosts Historic Hometown “Medallo En El Mapa” Concert with 53K in Attendance and Live Streaming Worldwide

Global Latin music idol Maluma has made history, he performed a historic concert at the iconic Atanasio Girardot Stadium in his hometown of Medellin, in front of more than 53,000 people and a global audience via live stream on Amazon Prime, that included surprise guests such as global icon Madonna, Grupo Firme, Pipe Bueno and Medellin’s young urban stars Feid, Blessd and Wolfine, among others.

After an opening video featuring renowned artists Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, J Balvin, Wisin, Yandel, and Jimmy Fallon, Maluma appeared on the large cross-shaped stage in the center of the stadium singing his smash hit “HAWÁI”, generating massive euphoria in the audience of thousands, who sang along to every word and ovationed the artist who dropped to his knees and was moved to tears. He expressed his gratitude to his fans as he began the milestone concert.

A 7-piece band, 12 dancers, gigantic screens, fireworks, multicolored lights, and pyro joined the artist in the majestic state-of-the-art 3-hour show, with more than 40 songs and full of memorable surprises.

Reigning Kings of Regional Mexican music, Grupo Firme joined Maluma on stage to perform their hit collaboration “Cada Quien” as well as covers of Vicente Fernandez’s “El Rey,” and “Acá Entre Nos.” The Queen of Pop Madonna joined Maluma on stage and for the first time ever the pair performed their collaboration “Medellin” precisely in the city that was its inspiration, Madonna also performed the global hit “Music.”

The “Medallo en el Mapa” concert production brought together international and local teams including a staff of 100 people and 1,200 local employees who were part of the entire set-up, as well as the Maluma activations at the stadium entrance, creating a unique experience for fans that included the Madame Tussauds wax figure exhibit that was unveiled for the first time in South America at the Medellin Museum of Art earlier in the week, four outfits worn by Maluma throughout his career, a wall with many of the artist’s recognitions and awards, a colorful Medellin-style area for fans to take photos, a wall to display positive messages about Medallo and even two of the idol’s personal sports cars.
