Juanes Releases Spanish Cover of Bruce Springsteen’s ‘DANCING IN THE DARK,’ Part of New Album ‘ORIGEN’

Latin music legend, Juanes releases the second single from his upcoming album Origen, “Dancing in the Dark,” a Spanish adaptation of the Bruce Springsteen classic.

The song will form part of this new project in which the Colombian artist pays tribute to the artists and songs that influenced and inspired his musical identity. Originally released in 1984, “Dancing the Dark” was the song with which Springsteen launched his successful and legendary album “Born in the U.S.A,” which placed seven singles at #1 and was the best-selling album in the United States in the year 1985.

Co-produced by Juanes and multi-Grammy winner Sebastián Krys, the song highlights the unique success of the English record for which Juanes made his own adaptation of the original lyrics in Spanish.

This song has a lot to do with my sister Mara because she had a boyfriend that introduced me to all of this American music. In the ‘80s, when I was 13 or 14 years old, he traveled to the United States and brought vinyls back to Medellin…and this song, ‘Dancing in the Dark,’ was very popular, and I liked to watch the video to listen to Bruce Springsteen’s big voice and see him dance
