In August 2022, YouTube announced that the video had reached one billion views.
“We Are Young” was released as the first single off Fun.’s sophomore studio album, Some Nights, released on September 20, 2011. “We Are Young” won song of the year at the 2012 Grammy Awards and was nominated for record of the year and best pop duo/group performance.
