Candy Lover and Ken-Y Release “Maldita Locura”, with Music Video, Directed by Jorge Xolalpa

From social media domination and beauty brands, the finalist of the American Influencer Awards and considered one of the most iconic Latin figures on social networks, Candy Lover, has released her new song “Maldita Locura” in collaboration with the legendary urban singer Ken-Y (Duo RKM & Ken-Y).

The music video for “Maldita Locura” was directed by acclaimed award-winning filmmaker and film festival veteran, Jorge Xolalpa.

Produced through his company Mighty Aphrodite Pictures, Xolalpa describes the experience of directing “Maldita Locura” as a fascinating one. The video was filmed in the city of Los Angeles, where Candy Lover has resided since her adolescence. On the other hand, the choreographer and actor Alexis Vázquez was the creator of the dance movements that complement the song.

The idea of this musical group arose during Elysanij’s concert in Puerto Rico in August of 2023, where Candy Lover was invited to sing alongside the renowned artist. It was there that she met Ken-Y and they discussed the possibility of collaborating. The song was produced by Alfie Musik and Orlando Brinn, with Ken-Y the song and later traveled to Los Angeles to record the music video, thus marking the beginning of an exciting musical proposal.

Candy said about working with Ken-Y:

It’s a dream come true. Collaborating with one of the artists I grew up listening to their music shows me that I’m on the right path. It is a super sensual song with a unique vibe to feel throughout your body. I’m sure the audience will enjoy the topic as much as I do. I am truly super excited for this collaboration and everything that is to come.

This project marks the first step in Candy Lover’s new musical direction with her record label “Red Allies Music”, strategic allies of Heroes Music, the label and management team behind the singer Elysanij.

This release is just a preview of what is to come in the career of Candy Lover, who will soon release an EP with important collaborations with renowned artists. The Puerto Rican artist, who has more than 12 million followers across all her social networks and who recently debuted as a host during some prestigious Latin music awards, seeks to break barriers in the industry.
