Camilo x Grupo Firme Team Up for Infectious Heartbreak Anthem, “Alaska”

In their first collaboration together, and we’re sure there will be more to come, Camilo and Grupo Firme present “Alaska” a fun song, composed, and produced by the five-time Latin GRAMMY® winner and Édgar Barrera, that tells the story of heartbreak, using an ingenious play on words to the rhythm of Regional Mexican.

While in Vegas, Grupo Firme and Camilo crossed paths in a hotel corridor leading to them not only deciding to make music together at that moment but also becoming great friends. Camilo had this to say:

I love beautiful and transparent people like Grupo Firme. Making a song with them was something that challenged me and felt like an adventure.

Living their musical process in the studio was quite an experience, we had a lot of fun and I think that the energy we experienced when recording is felt in the song. I’m very happy and it’s another dream come true for me to have them as part of my new album.

Eduin Caz, leader of Grupo Firme, added:

the time I was strolling down the hallways of a hotel in Las Vegas with “los plebes” (Grupo Firme) and from a distance we recognized a person with great energy and vibes: Camilo. The synergy was immediate; we exchanged lyrics and verses. It was there that without saying much, we decided that we should join our talents to create something new. Thus, was born ‘Alaska,’ synonymous of joy, fun, passion, union and celebration!

The video for “Alaska” was directed by Evaluna Montaner and filmed in Miami, Florida. Sit back, fasten your seatbelts and get ready for a musical journey.
