Camila Cabello Talks Mental Health In Music

Pop superstar, Camila Cabello has released her highly-anticipated new album FAMILIA, she recently had an interview with Audacy Check In where she talked about mental health in the music industry.

During the eight-minute-long interview, Cabello talks about the new songs, collaborating with Willow Smith, and more. This is what she said about her collab with Smith:

WILLOW is, first of all, I’m so grateful that she said yes to being on this song and working on it with me, because I can’t think of anybody better to collaborate specifically on this song with, and also just in general, working with her has inspired me to collaborate more. When she came in and did her thing on that song I got to watch and be a music fan, and it just made me excited to work with people in the future, too. I just think she’s such a badass.

Cabello talked about the track “Psychofreak” collab w/Smith:

I’m excited, because for me that song is like exactly what I was going through and it sounds like such a cool, vibey song, but it’s about my mental health at that time, it’s about anxiety. I hope people can feel the pain behind some of those words…I think therapy is really helpful, and a really good investment — whether it’s group therapy or solo therapy — It’s like going to the doctors. It’s totally changed my life. Being open with people has really helped me. There were a lot of years I kept how I was feeling inside, and that kills you. What the album was for me was leaning on other people and not figuring it out on your own.
