Spanish star C. Tangana has released the new single “Yate.” The song was co-produced by C. Tangana with Alizzz and Victor Martinez, the same team behind his breakthrough album ‘El Madrileño.’
Tangana said this about the track:
While on vacation and staring at the turquoise sea, I started thinking of a trip through the Mediterranean: the South of France, Italy, Corsica. What would yacht music made by El Madrileño sound like? I delved into Spanish music from the 70s that incorporated soulful sophisticated arrangements. I wanted to make a joyful song that got people in a positive mood after such a rough year.
The song follows C. Tangana’s triumphant NPR “Tiny Desk (At Home) Concert)” which has 13 million views since its release in April. The “Tiny Desk” was the first live performance for the album ‘El Madrileño.’ It also includes the debut of a previously unreleased song “Me Maten” featuring flamenco fusion artist Antonio Carmona.
