Xolo Maridueña Joins Season 3 of Netflix’s ‘One Piece’

Netflix‘s pirate fantasy adventure has recruited Xolo Maridueña (Blue Beetle) to portray Portgas D. Ace in Season 3, which heads back into production later this year in Cape Town, South Africa.

Maridueña joins recently announced cast member Cole Escola (the Tony Award-winning star of the Broadway play Oh, Mary!), who will play theatrical assassin Bon Clay in the third installment. Maridueña is no stranger to Netflix, he starred as karate sensation Miguel Diaz in all six seasons of the Karate Kid sequel series Cobra Kai.

ONE PIECE: Into the Grand Line returns for Season 2 on March 10, 2026. New episodes find the Straw Hats visiting epic new locations as they sail through the legendary stretch of sea known as the Grand Line.

The series follows a daring young pirate named Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) as he sails the seas with his Straw Hats crew: swordsman Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), cartographer Nami (Emily Rudd), storyteller Usopp (Jacob Romero), and chef Sanji (Taz Skylar). Luffy dreams of becoming the King of the Pirates by finding the infamous pirate Gold Roger’s mysterious treasure, the One Piece.

ONE PIECE, based on Eiichiro Oda’s beloved manga of the same name, was created in partnership with Shueisha and is produced by Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner) and Netflix.
