Lucha VaVoom de La Liz (LVVDLL)—the perfect combination of world-class, professional lucha libre-style wrestling interspersed with insane, high-octane burlesque performances, death-defying aerial acts, comedy, music, and more—is returning with their annual summer spectacular show on Friday, August 22nd at The Mayan Theatre (1038 S Hill St.) in downtown Los Angeles.

Last month, LVVDLL’s beloved home venue The Mayan Theatre, a pioneer of downtown Los Angeles’ revitalization and a beloved cultural landmark that has served as a cornerstone of entertainment and community in DTLA for nearly a century, announced it will be closing its doors in September. The closure marks the end of an era, so LVVDLL is promising one last blowout in celebration of the venue they’ve called home for 23 years, before they find a new home to host their annual Halloween engagement.

The Lucha VaVoom de La Liz familia would like to send a huge and heartfelt thank you to The Mayan’s president, Sammy Chao, and his entire team. You’ve welcomed and nurtured us from day one. The Mayan hosted our first show in August 2002, and it has been a perfect fit ever since. Although we are leaving The Mayan behind, it will always be home in our hearts and minds. We feel extremely honored to have been a part of this one-of-a-kind venue’s history.
The wrestling lineup features superstar fighters, including the frightening and formidable Misterioso Jr.,former WWE cruiserweight champion TJ Perkins, XTREME Tiger, LVVDLL’s bad boy veteran Magno, Mariachi Loco, Los Chupacabras,Tijuana sensation Lady Pink, Los Vaqueros de VaVoom, sizzling hot Hunter J Gallagher (aka Sugar Baby), Valioso, and the first-ever female Viet-American professional wrestler Viva Van. Other wrestlers confirmed include fan favorites PaquitaVaVoom (and her terrifying chancla), Los Crazy Chickens, and the scatological master of lucha libre, Dirty Sanchez, with his underhanded dirty tricks and signature move “A Taste Of The Awful!”
The show’s confirmed lineup of burlesque dancers and performers includes Banbury Cross (intercontinental headlining performer on Burlesque’s Top 50 from 2011-2022), known for her classic Hollywood bombshell glamor and bump ‘n’ grind burlesque, as well as the return of the stunning and highly in-demand burlesque performer Skylar Benton,pogo-stick strip-teaserRoky Roulette, and the charming and enigmatic Poubelle Twins. Additionally, set to perform is Adelaide Pilar, accompanied by a live band, who seamlessly blends her Latina, Mexican American roots with musical prowess as a singer and trumpeter.
Delivering insanely off-the-cuff commentary with hilarious digs, barbs, and jabs will be long-time comedian MC Blaine Capatch, joined by celebrity co-host Drew Carey (legendary comedian, actor, and talk show host). Returning as ring announcer extraordinaire is international screen star and heartthrob Ignacio Serricchio, along with celebrated referees Joyce and Sergio “Platanito” Garcia.
