King Youngblood will be releasing a new full-length album, companion sci-fi graphic novel, and audio book called Afrothunda II on March 6. Tour dates with Truly in support of the release begin on March 5 at Mississippi Studios in Portland, OR.
In 2022, King Youngblood expanded into the world of comics and graphic novels with their own rock and roll, sci-fi, afro-punk graphic novel, AFROTHUNDA – New Tomorrow. Now the group is expanding their universe with AFROTHUNDA II – All of Us Over Our Heads. The accompanying Soundtrack LP ties into the dramatic audio book, featuring guest appearances by Justin Harden, Rae Isla, Maz Jaquin (the visual artist for Afrothunda), the Uptown Ruler himself Cyril Neville of The Neville Brothers, and his son Omari Neville.
Produced by King Youngblood front man Lavi-Jones and mixed/mastered by Justin Armstrong (Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Matthews, Soundgarden) and Eric Lilavois (My Chemical Romance, Pearl Jam, Brandi Carlisle), this new music supports the declaration from Alternative Press that King Youngblood are “Seattle’s Alt-Rock Princes.”
