Hosted by Big Boy of L.A.’s hip hop and R&B station Real 92.3, the event included an intimate Q&A discussing Jeremih’s new album, Late Nights. The event broadcast across iHeartMedia Hip Hop radio stations nationwide; streamed live for fans on the iHeartMedia radio station websites as well as iHeartRadio.com/HondaStage.
Highlights from the evening include:
- Jeremih opened the show on a high note, performing, “Planes,” off of his newest album, Late Nights.
- Big Boy welcomed Jeremih to Los Angeles and asked how it was being on the Forest Hills Drive Tour. To which Jeremih shocked the audience by responding, “That was my first tour, as crazy as that might sounds. I was on Lil Wayne’s tour about 4-5 years ago, but this was my first official tour.”
- Big Boy followed by asking Jeremih why it took so long to create the new album, Late Nights, which is his first album in five years. “It wasn’t me [that took so long], ya’ll think it was me! No, honestly I’ve been doing a lot of work with people, doing a lot of collaborations. And over the last couple of years, I just wanted to make sure it was right. A lot of you don’t know this, but this is my last year with my label, my production company, my publishing company. So I just wanted to make sure I did it right.”
- While talking with Big Boy about the hit single, “Birthday Sex,” Jeremih began serenading a fan in the audience who was celebrating her birthday. He went on saying, “That [song] was my first joint. Shout out to every DJ and radio station that made the record what it was. It changed my life. Ya’ll [iHeartMedia] changed my life.”
