Cedric the Entertainer Named Grand Marshal of 2026 Martin Luther King Jr. Parade in L.A.

Los Angeles will come together in unity and celebration on Monday, Jan. 19, as LA’s Official Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade, produced by Bakewell Media and the Los Angeles Sentinel, returns to the streets of Los Angeles. It will honor the life, legacy, and enduring vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 

The parade will kick off at 10:00 a.m., beginning at Western Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and will end at Leimert Park. 

ABC7/KABC-TV Los Angeles will commence its exclusive live broadcast of the parade with a heartfelt opening message from Dr. Bernice King, CEO of the King Center in Atlanta, GA. The coverage will air from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., reaching audiences throughout Southern California for this significant community event.

The 2026 parade will be led by Cedric the Entertainer, who has been named grand marshal. Cedric the Entertainer is a respected entertainer and cultural figure. He has deep ties to community engagement. Members of the cast of “The Neighborhood” will join him. This highlights the importance of visibility, shared responsibility, and community voices in advancing Dr. King’s legacy.

Attendees can expect an exciting program featuring marching bands and colorful floats. Entertainers and community organizations will come together. They will create a joyful and meaningful experience. This reflects the diversity and spirit of Los Angeles.
