Cafecito y Cuentos, a new literary series dedicated to uplifting Latino and Latinx voices in literature, proudly announces its official launch this month with an inaugural event on March 20, 2026, featuring author Jorge Xolalpa and his book Ni De Aquí, Ni De Allá.
Co-founded by Marielena Marroquín, America Fontenot, and Kelly Stromberg, Cafecito y Cuentos was created with the mission of amplifying diverse voices and creating meaningful opportunities for Latino and Latinx authors to connect with broader audiences. Through monthly events, conventions, and curated literary experiences, the series will spotlight one author at a time—celebrating stories rooted in culture, identity, and lived experience.
The inaugural event will be hosted by The Littlest Library, with conversations led by TEDx speaker Marielena Marroquín, MPA, creating an engaging and intimate space for dialogue, storytelling, and community connection.
The event will feature an engaging conversation with Jorge Xolalpa, whose book Ni De Aquí, Ni De Allá explores themes of identity, belonging, and the complexities of navigating multiple cultures. The evening will include a live discussion, audience Q&A, and book signing.
Continuing its commitment to elevating powerful voices, Cafecito y Cuentos will host Doctora Alejandra Acuña, author of Stones, Flowers and Lessons Learned, as its featured author in May 2026.
Cafecito y Cuentos invites readers, writers, and community members to join this exciting launch and be part of a growing movement dedicated to championing Latino and Latinx literature—one story, one author, and one cafecito at a time.
