Queen Latifah Set To Launch New Reality Competition Show!

Original queen of rap Queen Latifah is launching her own reality competition show. American Idol, X-Factor, and The Voice better watch out, because the queen and the CW Network are ready to take over. The show tentatively titled The Star Next Door will also feature Gloria Estefan, and John Rich as mentors.

The show is being described The CW as:

In this new take on the music competition genre, superstar mentors, including pop legend Gloria Estefan and country star John Rich, will travel to where the talent is, immersing themselves in the lives and towns of these local performers and preparing them for the chance to represent their home city on stage, live, in front of America.

The search for the next singing superstar is set to begin this summer. What do you guys think, will it be a hit?

Paquita La Del Barrio’s House Was Robbed!!

Earlier today latin-america superstar Paquita La Del Barrio held a press in Los Angeles to talk about her upcoming concert, but then she changed the topic and talked about the insecurity in Mexico.

She revealed that her house in Mexico was broken into while she was out with her son.

Neighbors reportedly called the authorities, but they never showed up. The thieves managed to get away with a safe, that contained some pricey jewelry. Paquita broke down, and cried but it wasn’t because she was robbed. She cried, because of the current situation that Mexico is currently in.

Getting robbed is the worst feeling in the world, but we’re glad that Paquita and her son are safe.

Florence + The Machine To Release MTV Unplugged Album!!

Florence + The Machine‘s recent appearance on MTV Unplugged will serve as the band’s first-ever live album, set for an April 10th release!

The album is titled MTV Unplugged – A Live Album, it’s set to feature 11-acoustic songs from both her hit album’s Lungs (available now) & Ceremonials (available now) in addition to covers of Otis Redding’s “Try A Little Tenderness” and Johnny Cash and June Carter’s “Jackson”, which features Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme serving as the Man in Black.

MTV is set to air Florence + The Machine‘s Unplugged special later this month. We’ll keep you posted on the air date as soon as it’s announced.
